Central San began using the ArcGIS Utility Network (UN) for their sewer and recycled water assets in June 2023. They begin the journey with a readiness and data assessment by HDR, which included a roadmap identifying data elements, methodology, desired UN functionality, and business integrations. Central San staff customized the Esri Solutions UN data models for sanitary sewer and water, migrated the existing sewer and recycled water features into the new UN data model, and wrote dozens of attribute rules. The session will discuss the Esri tools used, and custom functionality built by Central San.

The migration of CAESB's technical register to the ArcGIS Utility Network modernized the management of the Federal District's water and sewage networks by enabling the use of native tools that ensure topological quality and increase field productivity. Lasting approximately 14 months, the initiative included the creation of an advanced data model and the adaptation and migration of the existing technical register, facilitating network analysis and sector management. The field team also began executing maneuvers supported by tracing and network isolation analysis on mobile devices.
