- Collaborative Approaches to Emergency Management Tools for Local Governments
In our city, the GIS division is vital in emergency response and preparedness. Through collaboration with agencies and staff, we developed tools for field data collection and situational awareness, adaptable for various emergency levels. A key feature is a dashboard that visualizes data from ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS QuickCapture, and ArcGIS Experience Builder alongside authoritative sources like weather and traffic. GIS enabled us to replace paper notes, phone calls, and isolated phone apps with a centralized digital system. Ongoing training ensures these tools remain effective for emergency response.
